Description
Although the Arkansas River splits Little Rock into two downtowns, the city is linked by six different bridges. The Rock Island Bridge was built in 1899 for railroad use, and was eventually converted to a pedestrian bridge in 2011 and renamed to complement the Clinton Presidential Center.
In 2013, three of the bridges between Little Rock and North Little Rock were outfitted with thousands of colored LEDs, illuminating the downtown with brilliant splashes of color.
